Early this morning, we took the bus to Chania, and then we headed for the old city, ending with a walk along the harbour. I was so eager to visit Chania, this city is known for being like a city in Italy

As it took us a while to get here, we decided to go directly to the old town. We had heard about the lighthouse and the harbour which are really beautiful.

Naturally, we started our visit in the old town of Chania. I was very impressed by the narrow streets, the colourful houses and the port, all influenced by Venetian traditions. Very different from other Greek cities or villages. They are less bright and have a dominant white and yellow. We went to discover the old town of Chania and these charming little streets. Then, by chance, we came across a lovely potter, who organizes free pottery classes. It was a pity that we do not have enough time to take a class with him.
Here in Chania, everything is so colourful! It looks a lot like cities in Italy! Small balcony, three-story building, pedestrian streets.

Before leaving, we headed to the port, and we had the chance to cross sea turtles. Yes, in the harbour, two beautiful turtles. We did not know how they got there, but they were there to eat and play with us.
At the end of the day, we returned to Tsivaras, meet our host, and swim a bit in the pool.

Hello de Chania ! 

Tôt ce matin, nous avons pris le bus pour Chania puis nous nous sommes dirigés vers la vieille ville, pour finir par une promenade le long du port. J’avais tellement hâte de visiter Chania,
cette ville connue pour ressembler à une ville d’Italie.

Comme il nous a fallu un peu de temps pour arriver ici, nous avions décidé de nous rendre directement dans la vieille ville. Nous avions déjà entendu parler du phare et du port qui sont vraiment magnifiques. 

 

Tout naturellement, nous avons commencé notre visite par la vieille ville de Chania. J’ai été très impressionné par les rues étroites, les maisons colorées et le port, tous influencés par les traditions vénitiennes. Très différent des autres villes ou villages grecs. Elles sont moins colorées et ont une dominante de blanc et de jaune. Nous nous sommes partis à la découverte de la vieille ville de Chania et de ces charmantes petites ruelles. Puis, par hasard nous sommes tombés sur un charmant potier, qui organise des cours de poterie gratuite. Ce fut bien dommage que nous n’ayons pas assez de temps pour suivre un cours avec lui.

 Ici à Chania, tout est si coloré ! Cela ressemble beaucoup aux villes en Italie ! Petit balcon, immeuble à trois étages, rues piétonnes. 

 

Avant de repartir, nous nous sommes dirigés vers le port et nous avons eu la chance de croiser des tortues de mer. Oui, dans le port, deux belles tortues. Nous ne savions pas comment elles ont pu arriver là, mais elles étaient là à manger et à jouer avec nous.

 

À la fin de la journée, nous sommes retournés à Tsivaras, retrouver notre hôte, et nager un peu dans la piscine. Chill time dans la piscine ?
